CalPERS Joins in Quality, Affordability Efforts

The ability of public sector to offer high quality health care services at an affordable cost that is sustainable for an employer and its employees and retirees is of paramount importance to CalPERS.
As a member of the Public Sector HealthCare Roundtable, CalPERS supports these principles of quality and affordability in health care coverage for every American. The Roundtable is a strong voice in the nation’s health care debate for public employers, who collectively provide health benefits to nearly 16 million Americans and their families at a cost of more than $125 billion. The Roundtable encourages a reform initiative that establishes a national commitment to health coverage for every American and innovative cost containment components such as chronic care management and wellness and healthy lifestyle promotion.
