CalPERS Applauds Senate on Health Care Reform Action

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) applauded recent U.S. Senate action approving The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and sending the measure to conference with the House of Representatives.
The Board of Administration called the Senate vote an historic action, as the bill brings us one step closer to reforming an antiquated health care system. CalPERS supported a number of cost-containment amendments that were successfully added to the final Senate bill based on amendments offered by a group of 11 freshmen Senators.
